Kidney lesion is first evaluated by ultrasound. If it is a simple cyst, investigation will end. In case of a complex cyst, CT-Scan is the modality of choice to evaluate its overall enhancement, the presence of septa that enhance or not, or intracystic nodules to classify their neoplasm risk, according to the Bosniak classification. Magnetic resonance is indicated in patients allergic to iodine, suffering of a renal failure (but with glomerular filtration rate <30ml / min / 1.73m2), presenting complex cysts, or equivocal CT result. Finding of a solid lesion by ultrasound must be followed by a CT-Scan to determine the staging (lymph nodes, renal vein thrombosis, etc.)
