If it is typical of a cyst, the investigation will end there. If it is typical of a hemangioma, ultrasound monitoring will be sufficient. If it is an indeterminate lesion on ultrasound such as atypical hemangioma in a steatotic liver or solid lesion, or if ultrasound is technically limited, especially if the patient has a primary neoplasm, then a two- or three-phase CT-Scan is indicated. The CT-Scan will allow thecharacterization of the lesion and its pattern of enhancement in arterial and venous phases.
